You know that feeling when you are working your tail off, churning out quality work and enjoying a run of success that just keeps rolling? It feels amazing… you’re on fire! You are a high achiever and ever reliable.
Personal pride
You take tremendous pride in your work. Your customers feel how much you value them, and they know you are there to help them solve their problems. You live and breathe the mantra, “don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today”. This is the reason why you are so successful. You never leave work without having made a significant contribution… just attending isn’t in your DNA… you are there to get stuff done. Those around you are in awe of your ability to deliver results time and time again.
Pushing through
But it isn’t easy.
When your workload is beyond what you can realistically achieve, you regularly pause to re-focus yourself on what is most important. Although you hate the feeling of spinning more plates on sticks than you can handle, you’ve learned that if one or two drop and smash, it isn’t the end of the world. You see the bigger picture and you zone in on the high impact actions. Some jobs simply won’t get done.
As a high performer, you often come up against obstacles. Most often, you find a way to navigate beyond roadblocks to a positive outcome. You do this by skilfully communicating and collaborating with others to uncover solutions you push through to find a win.
Looking after yourself
You understand the paramount importance of looking after yourself. Despite the endless work that keeps coming your way, you make time for yourself and your family. Sure, your balance gets out of whack every now and then, but let’s face it, this happens to most successful people. You never let go of the fact that you must spend time on the other aspects of life that are important. You are always trying to improve in this area.
Asking for help
Your ability to ask for help when you need it is a strength. Rather than see this as a sign of weakness, you know when input from others will help you be at your best. You listen and take feedback onboard.
Always learning
Despite being an expert in your field and someone who others turn to for advice, you never assume you know it all. You’re always learning and trying something new because your endless thirst to improve is unquenchable.
